OUR STORY

Team Pursuit was founded in 2010 with a single vision: to help young people discover their gifts and build pathways toward entrepreneurship, purpose, and meaningful lives. What started as youth workshops and collaborative programming in Detroit grew into something much bigger.

Over time, it became clear that Team Pursuit was more than an organization. It was a philosophy: that it truly takes a team, unified across different visions and missions, to create lasting change. The name TEAM reflects this belief in the power of collective effort.

As community needs deepened, Team Pursuit expanded to include violence intervention, wraparound family support, workforce readiness, and innovative digital infrastructure. Today, we operate as a coalition of business owners united under a shared mission. Each team member runs their own enterprise while collectively advancing community wellness in Detroit's 48205 zip code and 9th Precinct.

We have grown from youth workshops to a comprehensive community wellness ecosystem that integrates mentorship, resource connection, community mobilization, and digital innovation to address the full spectrum of what families and neighborhoods need to thrive.

Quincy Smith | Executive Director

Quincy Smith is the visionary leader and founder of Team Pursuit. With over 15 years of community service in Detroit, Quincy has dedicated his life to creating pathways for young people and families to move from instability to purpose. His leadership is rooted in lived experience, deep community relationships, and an unwavering belief that peace is possible.

Misty Angelique Smith | Chief Operating Officer

Misty Angelique Smith serves as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing operations, systems development, and strategic partnerships. She brings extensive experience in brand development, organizational infrastructure, and business consulting to ensure Team Pursuit operates with excellence and sustainability.

VIOLENCE INTERRUPTERS

The Outfit is Team Pursuit's field team of credible messengers who work directly in the community to interrupt violence, mediate conflict, and build trust. These are individuals with lived experience who have transformed their own lives and now dedicate themselves to helping others do the same.
